Perquimans County Schools Finance Department

Earns Financial Award

 

The Perquimans County Schools Finance Department is second to none, according to Superintendent Dr. Dwayne K. Stallings.

Stallings raved about the work and dedication of each of the employees in the finance office as he announced that they were the recipient of the North Carolina State Board of Education Recognition of Achievement in Financial Resource Management for last (2007-2008) school year.

“Our finance department provides exemplary service to our employees,” said Superintendent Stallings.

According to Stallings, the office processes all payments for goods and services, establishes and collects accounts receivables, maintains the general ledger and prepares monthly and annual financial statements, all in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. The office also maintains accounting records and request reimbursement for all Federal Programs. Additionally, this office processes time and attendance sheets for approximately 350 full and part time employees accurately and on time, maintaining leave records and ensuring the correct and timely payment ofpayroll, payroll taxes, retirement contributions and deductions.
